A new website can determine the amount of paper a user’s printer can handle.
Burris Computer Forms has announced the new tool on its website that allows users to view information about their printers. This included the maximum paper weight their printers can handle.
The website also has a tool which will inform users of the type of paper that their printer can handle, which the company describes as useful to anyone printing on heavier than regular paper.
A chart is also available to help uncertain users compare paper weights and an interactive tool can be downloaded and used on any website or desktop.
Burris Computer Forms was founded in 1992 and produces a variety of blank printable postcards, greeting cards and labels.
Paper-paper.com describes the basis weight of paper as the designated fixed weight of 500 sheets, measured in pounds, in that paper’s basic sheet size.
A calliper is the thickness of a sheet of paper expressed in the thousandth of an inch, with the measurement taken with a micro meter.

OKI Printing Solutions has launched a new A4 digital colour printer designed for small workgroups.
The C3600n has a best-in-class standard memory, processor speed and first page out speed, according to the company. It has been designed to fit the pace and needs of small workgroups.
OKI claims that the new device is designed to make colour printing more "powerful, accessible and efficient".
Mike Garofola, marketing manager at OKI, said that small businesses find it difficult, due to budget limits, to integrate "robust technology" into their everyday processes.
"The new C3600n brings industry-leading capabilities in a compact footprint to these very small workgroups, producing high-quality colour documents quickly, efficiently and productively," said Mr Garofola.
Earlier this year OKI released its C5750 and C5950 colour printers which were designed to meet the requirements of demanding workgroups and businesses.
The printers extended the access to a broader range of applications including non-windows users while increasing its levels of performance and productivity.

Businesses may be offered financial incentives if it makes existing office buildings more environmentally friendly.
The chair of the Parliamentary All-Party Urban Development Group is looking at how to provide incentives for businesses’ to bring buildings in line with government targets.
Existing government targets say that by 2019 all new business premises should be carbon zero and it is open to setting similar targets for existing buildings.
Clive Betts, chair of the group, said: "What we want to see is a proper system of measurement and recording, so that if tax breaks come in we can demonstrate they’re going to have a perceivable effect on carbon emissions and that we are getting value for the public money that’s going in."
Experts are going to be questioned by the All-Party Urban Development Group on how the environmental impact of office buildings can be reduced.
The UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC) has recently issued a report explaining how buildings can be carbon zero.
The government announced the carbon zero goals in 2007, however there has been no definition of the term until now.
The UK-GBC is now confident that its new definition will be endorsed by the government so that developers can build more environmentally sustainable buildings.
